Three Arctic Islands

Iceland, Greenland, and Norway's Spitsbergen Islands
Overview

overview

National Geographic Traveler has named this voyage one of its 50 Tours of a Lifetime. To land on this prestigious list, this expedition had to be:

“[One of the] most authentic, most innovative, most immersive, best-guided, and most sustainable tours.”

This 14-day cruise, encompassing three Arctic islands (Iceland, Greenland, and Norway's Spitsbergen), is exclusive to JOURNEYS' long-time Arctic partner, Quark Expeditions. Join this adventure in August 2014 and explore the magnificent northeast coast of Greenland with its icy fjords, rugged coastline, and massive glaciers. Along the way, you'll see plenty of Arctic wildlife, including bearded, ringed, and harp seals, musk oxen, walrus, beluga, bowhead whales, and, of course, polar bears!

This is the Arctic of Viking lore and legend -- a world of icy fjords, fiery volcanoes, and glittering, ice-bound seas. Here you'll encounter the majestic ice bear and the colossal walrus, seabirds by the thousands in their towering cliff-side rookeries, and breathtaking flower-dotted tundra plains.

Contact Polar Specialist Gail Scherer at JOURNEYS for this and other Arctic voyage options.  Gail will be happy to share her knowledge, and find the Arctic expedition that is perfect for you.
